Update late March 2022  Wow! Praise God! Through single donations AND those who have set up a monthly payment to give throughout 2022, we have met the goal for 2022 ($4,000)!

For this year, we budgeted $3,000 to help in Kenya with Hilltop preschool lunches and with food for families which the pastor and social worker see are in desperate need.

We budgeted $1,000 to help in Tanzania for crisis food support. Any funds raised in excess of the $4,000 goal will go to Tanzania. During home visits we often visit for a specific reason, then discover during our visit that the family is completely without food and without income. Having this fund available means we can immediately address the need.

THANK YOU to all who have made this possible!

Update in late February 2022: We have received donations or pledges of about $3,630 for 2022. Less than $400 is left to reach our goal! THANK YOU SO MUCH! We are have already visited 5 families in Kigamboni village who each have a malnourished child between the ages of 1.5 and 4 years. We were able to counsel them about the child and provide peanut butter for the month plus for one family, additional food support. These children were referred to us by the Kigamboni hospital. We will check on these 5 kids after a month and see how they are doing. In addition, during January home visits in Chalinze, we found 3 of our families with little to no food at home. We saw how bad the drought is (these grandmothers who usually gather leafy greens - free - like spinach to cook with their staple foods, currently have no vegetables growing). We provided a month's worth of staple foods immediately and due to the drought, we increased the monthly food support these families are receiving from us. Home visits are so important to assess what is really happening on the ground. I will try to update here again in a few months!   - Deborah Magaya

Thank you for making a one time gift or for setting up a monthly payment to give throughout the year! We emphasize our Feeding Program each January as we try to raise the majority of funds we need for the year. In 2021 our goal was $3,000 and we raised almost $4,000. All of it was distributed for food. We've set our 2022 goal at $4,000. We trust God to provide!

Kulea Villages' Feeding Program provides food support for 1) families in crisis and 2) for children enrolled in a church preschool. We provide much needed food relief to those we find in a desperate situation due to hunger. Staples like beans, rice, maize, oil and salt are given out to families who are struggling with hunger. Preschool children at Hilltop School in Kenya receive a healthy breakfast and lunch each day thanks to our support toward their meals. Proper nutrition allows them to concentrate at school and helps the church educate more children than they otherwise could due to the expense of food.

Note: Suggested donation amounts are just ideas. You can give any amount you choose - once or as an ongoing monthly donation.
