Matt Miller says...

Athletes for a Better World is a not for profit organization that uses sports to develop character, teamwork and citizenship through commitment to an athletic Code for Living. We actively promote character development and give awards / scholarships to worthy individuals in high school, college and professional sports. We have a golf tournament on November 11th. I'm seeking golfers, sponsors and donors and to help me meet my fundraising goal of $2,000. You are also able to join my team. Your fundraising efforts can lead to free golf, prizes, etc.

GOLF TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

November 11, 2022, CC of Roswell, 8am registration, 945 am shotgun start. See the Updates tab for the latest information.

MISSION

Athletes for a Better World accomplishes its mission to teach and reward excellence in athletic character in three parts:  the first by rewarding exemplary accomplishments in sports, academics, community service, and character through its Georgia high school Vincent J. Dooley Awards & Scholarships program; secondly through the Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup by recognizing professional, college and nationally selected high school athletes for achievement in sports, character, and citizenship; and finally, by teaching athletic character formation through its Code for Living curricula studies program.  Additional information about the mission and the accomplished athletes we honor may be found at www.abw.org.

TESTIMONIALS

… for the ABW Curriculum book Winning More Than The Game

“This book will further spread the value and lessons of the Code for Living to all athletes, at all levels, for many lifetimes to come. These positive role model principles summarize the athlete’s responsibility as an individual, as a member of a team, and as a member of society. It is a treasured gift.” – Coach Vince Dooley

…for the ABW Code for Living

“Sport is only a part of our lives. The Code for Living isn’t just good for those of us who are professional athletes; it’s good for kids of all ages and their parents.” – Peyton Manning, NFL Hall of Fame

“We believe that there are many life lessons that can be learned through sports, and that, when taught properly, sports can help us grow on and off the field.  Winning More Than The Game and its Code for Living are valuable for athletes, coaches, and parents, and ABW’s mission to make everyone stronger through sports is one we can all learn from.” – Cal Ripken, Jr., Baseball Hall of Fame

“ABW is working to create the proper values and environment in sports for our young people to grow up in. The Code for Living is needed at every level of sports today.” – Tom Glavine, Baseball Hall of Fame
